By manipulating paper and wax I am able to explore and develop my work in a tactile way. I see the casting process as a form of alchemy, with one material transformed into another in a celebration of light, form and colour.
In each piece I solidify memories of landscapes around me to reward the curious with a form that is intriguing from all angles, as if you were travelling through the landscape yourself.
I imagine my smaller pieces to be found treasures that will nestle comfortably in your hand or pocket until they’re placed on a shelf alongside mementoes from previous explorations. My larger pieces invite the audience to explore the mysterious inner qualities of the form’s internal world as the glass reacts to the surrounding environment, to the changing light and to the movement of the viewer.
